BROKEN VESSELS ARE HIS TREASURE

"Then the word of the LORD came to me saying, “Can I not, O house of Israel, deal with you as this potter does? ” declares the LORD. “Behold, like the clay in the potter’s hand, so are you in My hand, O house of Israel.” Jeremiah 18:5-6

We must be a yielded vessel in the Potters hand. He is the builder of us all and He has a unique design for each one, according to the season of one’s assignment. This design is one of flexibly to His spirit and able to hold new wine as He pours it in His vessel. Many get fixed and rigid in a design that worked well in past seasons of administration and are unwilling to allow the breaking of the Potter. They are fearful of change, fearful of failure and fearful of stepping out in uncharted territory!

The Master doesn’t demand that we shift out of our comforts, but He will beckon us to come walk with Him! “And in the fourth watch of the night He came to them, walking on the sea. When the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were terrified, and said, “It is a ghost!” And they cried out in fear. But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, “Take courage, it is I; do not be afraid.” Peter said to Him, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.” And He said, “Come!” And Peter got out of the boat and walked on the water and came toward Jesus.” (Matthew 14:25-29)

The others in the boat stayed within the comforts of what was their reality of experience. They knew water was not a solid substance for walking. It was not within the comfort of their logic that it would sustain their weight. Only Peter cries out to the Potter for the breaking! The others would not allow Jesus to smash them and create something new! They all could have walked on water that day.

The breaking of the vessels is the Potters business. Each is in His time and design for His church and purpose. Those who are willing and obedient to yield as He speaks are those who will be a continued vessel that is fit for the Master’s use. Those who are stubborn and refuse to bend with the blowing of the wind, resisting the reshaping will continue in the form of godliness that they have grown accustomed too. Each will have its place and use for Jesus but those who let Him reshape them will experience continued movement of the Spirit, which will be manifested in new experiences, exploits and power!
