Resisting the Political Religious Alliance

But the synagogue official, indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, began saying to the crowd in response, "There are six days in which work should be done; so come during them and get healed, and not on the Sabbath day."”

Luke 13:14

The political religious alliance is a death structure that will work to try to shut down the liberty in Christ and the pure work of God. It unites together and will put demands and restrictions on the liberty of Holy Spirit and the gift of God in you. It will become accusing if one doesn’t submit to its control which is out for personal gain and control. It is apostacy and full of defensive pride, in that it believes it should have authority over another man's stewardship of his own spirit and God’s gifts. This opens both the one operating in it to work witchcraft control which can also create evil soul-ties to those under its power, using fear and intimidation or legalism and condemnation. Any time one makes you feel guilt there is witchcraft at work.

This evil alliance came against Jesus many times while He was obeying His Father, eventually it worked to crucify Jesus as Pilot and the Jews had an alliance and balance of power of false peace. A political spirit of course is defined as exercising and seeking power in government in public affairs of a state or municipality etc. It says concerning the trial of Jesus in Matthew 27, that while Pilot was sitting in the judgment seat, his wife warns him to have nothing to do with Jesus the righteous man. But the chief priests and the elders persuaded the crowds to ask for Barabbas and to put Jesus to death. Pilot released the thief because of a riot starting and his concern of losing his false political peace with the Sanhedrin. These spirits must have an alliance because Pilot was the authority who could sentence death and they needed his power fulfill their plan to kill Jesus. Pilot was known as a ruthless ruler and cared for no one. The religious spirit hired false witnesses against Jesus as it always does, to lie about him paying taxes to Caesar and claiming to be king. Pilot knew Jesus was innocent but he listened to the voice of the multitudes that were influenced by the religious leaders.

We must understand that there aren't any new demons or principalities being created. Satan cannot originate anything, but he can imitate, masquerade and transform into false light. Jesus always continued to do what His Father was doing. He never allowed this system to control Him. He learned obedience by what He suffered in life, some of which came from the rejection of the political system and religious sect of his day. It is no different today for those who choose His kingdom purposes. In Mark 13:9, Jesus says be on your guard; for they will deliver you to courts, and you will be flogged in the synagogues, and you will stand before governors and kings for My name sake, as a testimony to them.

We must discern the fruit of Christ from another spirit. This political religious spirit is deceptive because it has a form of godliness and seems to have good intentions. This is where the seduction comes into play to entrap and entangle one in a web of half-truths and lies. It will always have personal agendas in place!

The religious leaders told Jesus He couldn't heal on the sabbath. They even used the law to enforce their demands! They didn't care about the ones who were sick and dying and in bondage, but the underlying motive was their lust for power, control and recognition of their seats of authority. This spirit doesn't give Jesus His rightful place of headship. It demands ownership of everything one has.

Jesus showed us how to deal with it. He resisted its threats and continued to follow His Fathers purpose. He stayed in prayer, walking and demonstrating the kingdom of righteousness. He was the Word that became flesh. He set His face like flint understanding that His Father had His hand on His life, and it was not His will He was walking out but His Fathers. Be obedient to the call of God on your life and remember that you are stewards over all that He has put within you. You alone will stand before your Father to answer for what you do and for the willing obedience to follow Him through all opposition.
