Gossip Spreads Disease

Gossip spreads disease “He who goes about as a slanderer reveals secrets, Therefore do not associate with a gossip.” Proverbs 20:19

Gossip means idle talk or rumor, especially about the personal or private affairs of others; to go about being a tattletale. One of the marks of an apostate in the Word of God is; "unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good,” ‭‭(2 Timothy‬ ‭3:3‬). Gossiping is also a fruit of a reprobated mind in Romans 1.

Gossip is a very serious matter to the Lord Jesus or He wound not of warned us that men would give an account of every idle word they speak. Meaning we would be judged by our own words.

When you find yourself in the midst of one who always wants to uncover and bring shame on those in the body and never having a positive thing to say, remove yourself from the conversation! Do not be a partaker or an enabler of this destructive behavior!

When one does not possess real love, there will be a desire to destroy others. When one hates them self they will also go about tearing others down. Beware of prayer groups who use intercession as a platform to spread rumors or gossip. We don't pray people's problems to expose it to others, but we pray the Word of God into the areas of struggle to bring life into the situation! Otherwise you are helping the enemy work division within the body.

What you put in your ear gate will speak to you the rest of the day. Words are thoughts, plain and simple, which also will paint a picture in the heart. The thoughts one entertains will either manifest in words or they will steer your life and ones relationships; producing life or death. They can also become toxic and bring sickness in ones body! They can be root issues to bondage through spoken curses.

It is said of the tongue; “And the tongue is a fire, the very world of iniquity; the tongue is set among our members as that which defiles the entire body, and sets on fire the course of our life, and is set on fire by hell." James‬ ‭3:6‬

The fruit of holiness as a child of God is more than an outward display but there should be a consistent expression of it coming out of ones mouth! “For we all stumble in many ways. If anyone does not stumble in what he says, he is a perfect man, able to bridle the whole body as well.” James‬ ‭3:2‬. What you tolerate will never change, in you or around you!
