WHEN THINGS ARE PAST HOPE.. BELIEVE!

“And there came a man named Jairus, and he was an official of the synagogue; and he fell at Jesus’ feet, and began to implore Him to come to his house; for he had an only daughter, about twelve years old, and she was dying. But as He went, the crowds were pressing against Him….

While He was still speaking, someone came from the house of the synagogue official, saying, “Your daughter has died; do not trouble the Teacher anymore.” But when Jesus heard this, He answered him, “Do not be afraid any longer; only believe, and she will be made well.”” Luke 8:41-42, 49-50

Fear is a byproduct of an unbelieving heart. Jesus was telling them to get over your fear and believe (have faith) and all will be well. Unbelief also brings with it doubt and skepticism. All forms of fear will hinder the miraculous in your life. It is an enemy of the kingdom of God. Jesus was never moved by what His eyes saw, or His ears heard. He challenged every skeptic and the natural laws with absolute authority in supernatural power and ability given to Him. He was the example for us as believers today.

In the next verses it reads, “When He came to the house, He did not allow anyone to enter with Him, except Peter and John and James, and the girl’s father and mother. Now they were all weeping and lamenting for her; but He said, “Stop weeping, for she has not died, but is asleep.” And they began laughing at Him, knowing that she had died. He, however, took her by the hand and called, saying, “Child, arise!” And her spirit returned, and she got up immediately; and He gave orders for something to be given her to eat.” Luke 8:51-55

We must get rid of an evil heart of unbelief concerning the supernatural ability of God. We must cultivate faith through renewing our minds in faith. Faith muscles must be strengthened and built by spiritual exercise. Being a doer of the Word and not just a hearer of it is the beginning motion of the miraculous. One must learn to turn a deaf ear to unbelief. Jesus shut out the mockers and those who were laughing.

In this account of faith, the father of the little girl begged Jesus to come and even after the hope of her life was over, he still let Him come. Things may look impossible or past hope, but this is what Jesus specializes in! We must have faith in God who calls dead things to life. When the enemy is mocking you and taunting you just hold steady in the same confession and forward motion until you see the manifested power completed. Your miracle depends upon your faith in God not what others think about the situation.
