Honoring one another honors God

Honoring one another honors God In Romans 12:10 it tells us to be devoted to one another in brotherly love; give preference to one another in honor. The Greek word for honor here means valuable, precious and weighty. To dishonor means to treat as common, not giving respect or value too something. The Lord Jesus taught us about honor in many of His teachings. He taught the importance of honoring one another within the body of Christ at every level of relationship. Jesus taught us that if you even give a cup of water to the least of them, in His name, one would receive a reward (Mark 9:41). Understanding honor and operating in it will bring a reward from Jesus. This attitude of the heart pleases the Father. We are called to honor those in authority over us, inside and outside of the church (1peter 2:13- 19; Romans 13:1-7), those who walk with you (Romans 12:10), children with parents (Eph. 6:1- 9), and in marriages (Eph.5:33). The Lord God also says to honor Him with the first fruits of our wealth (Proverbs 3:9, Malachi 3). One cannot truly walk in honor without humility and the fear of the Lord within their hearts. Proverbs 22:4 says the reward of humility and the fear of the Lord are riches, honor and life. These attributes cannot be separated and will surely bring a great reward. In Matthew 15:8-11 Jesus rebukes the religious leaders for honoring Him with their lips but not with their hearts. He says they worshiped Him in vain. When we highly value what Jesus values, which are the souls of men and we begin to walk in love, esteeming others above ourselves in servanthood, it is then we will become like Jesus. Honoring the Lord Jesus and one another brings the full reward of what gift, anointing or blessing they carry. You cannot receive from something you dishonor or do not value! Begin to value those whom the Lord has put in your life’s journey and even those who He has called you to work alongside with deeds of love and kindness. You will see the blessing of the Lord begin to flow greater than ever before in your life and you will reap what you sow. As you sow honor, watch it come back to you. The Lord is faithful to His promises and He is a rewarder of those who obey His Words of life. Honoring others will not only release life to them, but it will bring life back to y
